How current is the data?
Pre-built datasets are refreshed monthly with the latest Companies House filings. Custom datasets are built at the time of your request using data processed up to 24 hours before delivery.
Can I see what's included before I buy?
Yes. Free sample files are available on the packages page for each pre-built dataset. Each sample includes example companies with all column headers so you can review the structure and field coverage before purchasing.
Do all companies have turnover and profit data?
No. Most UK SMEs file abbreviated accounts without income statement disclosure. Every company includes balance sheet data (Current Total Assets, Current Total Liabilities, Current Equity) which provides reliable insight into financial position and year-on-year change. The Current Turnover Revenue and Current Profit Or Loss columns will be blank where not disclosed.
What is PSC data and why is it useful?
PSC stands for People with Significant Control. Every UK company is legally required to register individuals who own or control more than 25% of shares or voting rights with Companies House. DataLedger combines this ownership data with the financial profile in a single export - so you can see both how a company performs and who controls it. Particularly useful for M&A due diligence, KYC compliance, credit risk, and sales prospecting where knowing the decision-maker matters. Available now on custom datasets from £395.

What about companies that file on paper?
DataLedger processes electronically submitted accounts only. Electronic filing covers the majority of UK SMEs, growth companies, and digitally native businesses. Companies filing paper accounts only are not included.
