Total assets, equity and liabilities are reported far more consistently across the register, and employee count and SIC code fill in the rest, so unless turnover specifically matters, filtering on those instead reaches a wider set of genuinely matching companies.

Yes, directly, if it matters to your brief just tell us. The trade-off is that UK companies filing micro-entity or abridged accounts aren't required to disclose turnover, so filtering on it removes every company that doesn't publish one. That's why we default to recommending Total Assets, Equity, Liabilities and Employees instead, they're reported far more consistently and usually get you to the same shortlist without quietly excluding companies that simply don't disclose revenue. If turnover genuinely is the number that matters for your use case, we'll filter on it and be upfront about how much of the pool that leaves.
PSC stands for People with Significant Control. Every UK company is legally required to register individuals who own or control more than 25% of shares or voting rights with Companies House. DataLedger combines this ownership data with the financial profile in a single export, so you can see both how a company performs and who controls it. DataLedger processes electronically submitted accounts only. That's the large majority of UK companies, but a small number, skewed towards larger companies, still file on paper and aren't currently included. UK law is phasing in mandatory electronic filing for all companies by 2027, so this gap will close over time, but it's a real limit today and we'd rather tell you than have you assume full coverage.
